Nova Rock 09,
Nickelsdorf, A, June 19th - 21th
Austria's own rock festival has some real big rockstars for you this
year, and with big we actually mean HUGE like Metallica, Faith no More, Limp
Bizkit, Nine Inch Nails,...
And added to this lots of smaller acts (eg. Rolo Tomassi!!) But take a
look yourself and prepare for a rock weekend in Burgenland.
Groove
Cocktail Festival, A, Greifenstein, July 24 - 25
Only short car drive from Vienna, at the Danube in Greifenstein is the
lovely Strombauamt venue. So if you like festivals in a friendly, small
venue, it is the place to be. Filled with Austrian acts like Bunny
Lake, The
new Vitamines, 123
Cheers and a Tiger, A
Life A Song A
Cigarette, and many many more is should be a wonderful
weekend.
Indie
Project Festival, A, Vienna, Ottakringer Brauerei, August 1st
A new festival for the city, more or less
in the middle of the city! Indie Project, the name speaks for itself. A
festival full of (mainly) Austrian bands that all can be labeled Indie
(even if some of the bands surely hate this label). And as
international headline Junior Boys, all the way from Canada.
Picture On, Bildein, A, August 7th - 8th
Why don't spend a weekend at Bildein to see acts like Life of Agony,
Caliban, IAMX, Mad Caddies, Slut, Zeronic, and many
more!!! Guess it is time to watch Keith Caputo with Life of Agony again.
ATTENTION - Hayseed Dixies and Fear Factory canceled, and are replaced
by Justin Sullivan and Caliban.
Frequency, St. Pölten,
A, August 20th - 22nd
ATTENTION! The Frequency moved east and now will take place in St.
Pölten, so no more travelling to Salzburg for us
Eastaustrians,
and the chance for the Westaustrians to visit the pretty city of St.
Pölten.
And so Miss BB hometown will be visited by Radiohead, Bloc Party,
Prodigy and many many more.
See you all at the festivals 2009!
